Organic vs Natural Products: What's the Real Difference & Why It Matters

Nowadays everything is about being greenery, being more natural and using more organic ingredients and products. Green products are safe for our body and are safe for the environment. However, when it comes to being natural or biological, most people do not know the difference.

Natural and biological products have become more and more common in grocery stores over the last few decades. Most people thought as natural and organic, used each other on the product label. Until some time ago, no one thought differently. However, there is a major difference between natural and biological products and consumers are being misled to believe otherwise.
Let’s take a look that natural and biological products are different

Food labeling:

It is not necessary to advertise the product label natural, all natural, 100% natural or some natural products. Even though a product has only one component which is natural, the label can tell that it is “all-natural” and there is nothing that can stop it. Instead of reading the label to confirm those materials, we look at a “natural” label and consider that the product is healthy and safe. This is not always the case.
On the other hand, organic products are regulated by strict rules by the government and are ensured that botanical products are grown in a chemical -free environment. The standards have strict rules and quality that should be maintained for a product to earn certified organic seals. Each organic product must be 95–100% organic to certify.
By reading the label, we can make a better decision whether any product is natural, healthy or safe. Some ingredients that are not natural include lead, mercury, phthalates and sodium lorral sulfate. If you look at these materials on a label and they are claiming to be a natural switch for a separate brand.

Artificial preservatives:

Organic products do not contain artificial preservatives. However, as mentioned earlier products labeled as natural may contain a single natural substance and many chemical preservatives yet can be labeled as natural products. In the case of edibles, it is very dangerous as in our everyday life we consume lot of food, juices and snacks we eat them thinking they are healthy but we are feeding poison to ourselves which in turn worsens our immune system and risks the cause of many diseases.

Artificial flavors:

Artificial flavors are made from combining inedible ingredients and do smell as the natural ones. They are made to taste as the natural ones. Manufacturers do not hesitate in doing more experiments in bringing up new products with the same natural taste and we are often fooled by the labels in it.
Like artificial preservatives artificial flavors are of no good to our health yet we are tempted by the smell and taste of the product.

Artificial pesticides:

The natural product that is used in natural labeled products can be from a organic or inorganic farm. Inorganic farm uses a lot of artificial pesticides to protect the plant. The pesticides are the reason of many abnormal health problems in human body.
The organic products are 100% chemical pesticide free and natural products may have chemical pesticides. In this case also organic products are far better than the natural labelled products.

Artificial fertilizers:

Artificial fertilizers contain a lot of chemical products. As universally plants do need nutrition for its growth and development, in organic farms only organic fertilizers are used but in the natural labelled products the natural ingredient found may have artificial fertilizer grown in inorganic farm.

Organic vs Natural found everywhere:

Cosmetics, household products, cleaning products, food and pet food are all areas that use both natural and organic labels. So now you know the difference between natural and organic products, so next time you go shopping you may like a smart and sensible product. Always remember to read the label before choosing which brand is right for you.
